President's Message It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to the Ottawa Safety Council website. The OSC is a not-for-profit charity established to assist the citizens of Ottawa to prevent deaths and injury due to unsafe practices and/or conditions in their environment. This year marks our 51st anniversary and we are very proud of our long history of leadership and innovation in developing and bringing safety education and training to our community. We have experienced many changes over the years and I encourage you to take a look at our site to get a sense of where we have been; what we are today and where we are headed. As you will see, we are presently concentrated on three programs; the Motorcycle Training Program, the Children's Safety Village and the School Crossing Guard Program. We are also undertaking several major projects; most notably the rejuvenation of the Children's Safety Village at Brittania Bay.
