Crossing Guard of the Year Award

Not all heroes wear capes… some wear high visibility vests!

Crossing Guards have a very important (and sometimes stressful) job.  Students and parents depend on their Crossing Guards to help them cross the road safely all year long, in all kinds of weather and traffic.  We would like to give students, parents, school faculty and the community in general the opportunity to recognize the Crossing Guards’ efforts this past year. 

The OSC’s Crossing Guard of the Year Award is presented annually to a Guard who shows high levels of excellence and dedication to the important role of keeping our community’s children safe.

Ways you can show your guard you appreciate them between now and the end of the school year:

Surprise your guard with a small gift, card, or even just a high-five!
Download the OSC Coloring Sheet and present it to them.
Snap a picture or take a short video of yourself thanking your Guard and post it on social media – make sure to tag us!

The Ottawa Crossing Guard of the Year Award:

The Ottawa Crossing Guard of the Year Award is presented yearly to a Guard who shows high levels of excellence and dedication to the important role of keeping our community’s children safe. The cash prize is generously sponsored by the OSC.
