About the OSC

Who we are

At the Ottawa Safety Council, our goal is to be the leading authority in providing safety and injury-prevention education programs to residents of Ottawa. We are led by a dedicated group of volunteers who form the Board of Directors. We rely on our outstanding volunteers and staff to provide the best safety programming and education in Ottawa.

Our History

Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, we have enjoyed a well-established reputation as a leader in safety education. We continually check our environment to identify gaps in safety promotion and seek to meet the need, either through individual effort or with the many health and safety-related organizations throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario with whom we cooperate.

 Our Mission

The Ottawa Safety Council advocates for and delivers high-quality risk reduction and injury prevention programs for the Ottawa Community-at-large.

Our Vision

The OSC will be the leading voice of safety in the community with visible, high-quality training, education, and services built on the strength of our relationships.
