An Ottawa Safety Council Certified Children’s Restraint Systems Technician must complete a two day, 16-hour course that includes home study, in-class teaching time, written exam and participate in a car seat clinic to receive certification. To maintain their certification in good standing, they must complete annually a minimum of 10 installations; as well as complete a refresher course. Each clinic has a Senior Technician or Instructor working with the technicians and checks and signs off on every installation.
The Ottawa Safety Council offers technician training twice each year and is offered as both a volunteer position and as part-time employment. Interested candidates, please forward a cover letter and resume stating relevant job experience to HR@ottawasafetycouncil.ca
