Crossing Guard Position
Not all heroes wear capes, some wear high visibility vests!
Want to get active, get involved, and give back to your community? Apply to become a crossing guard.
We have immediate openings for responsible, mature and dedicated individuals to work 1-3 hours per day, Monday to Friday, September to June. Guards are paid $16.50 per one (1) forty minute shift. All training and equipment is provided.
Applications are accepted year-round and positions are filled based on operational needs.
To be successful, the applicant must:
- Be respectful, dependable and friendly
- Enjoy working with the public
- Be willing to complete and provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
- Be in good physical and mental health with an ability to cope with stress

Motorcycle Training Coordinator
The Ottawa Safety Council seeks a full-time Program Coordinator for its history-rich Motorcycle Training Program. Under the direction of the Senior Chief Instructor, the Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, ensuring the accuracy of the online registration system, preparing course materials for students and volunteer instructors, as well as overseeing the collection and maintenance of records.
